Our Mission:
Good Medicine Theatre Company provides educational benefit and cultural enrichment to the people of southern Nevada using laughter as its primary educational tool. Good Medicine Theatre Company is committed to the performance and development of comedic material and we believe that it is through this powerful medium we will become a gateway to the Arts in our community.
The Board:
Lester Brent - Board of Directors - Lester grew up in New England where he won awards all over the region for scenic design and technical achievement. He later went on to study at the North Carolina School for the Arts. Upon returning to his New Hampshire home, Lester worked at the Papermill Theatre as the Children's Theatre Technical Director and Scenic Designer, Main Stage Sound Designer, and general carpenter over four seasons. In 2000, Lester embraced his love for computers and opened the Chat Room Coffee House. He continues his passion for technology here in Henderson as the Information Technology Manager at a local construction company.
Barbara Tapp - Board of Directors - A summa cum laude BBA graduate from the University of New Mexico Anderson Schools of Management, Barbara is an American Society of Quality member and Certified Quality Improvement Associate since 2005. She served as Vice President for Awards for the Nevada Quality Alliance for 2 years and has been an Examiner for the Awards for Performance Excellence (APEX) for three years—a state program modeled after the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award criteria. Barbara also volunteers with the Make-a-Wish Foundation® of Southern Nevada as a Wish Granter, Wish Granting Committee Secretary, and fundraiser. Her husband is a tenured violinist with the Las Vegas Philharmonic and principal violinist in Phantom – The Las Vegas Spectacular which opened at the Venetian Hotel & Casino in June.
Susanna Brent - Artistic Director - After earning her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre at LaGrange College, in LaGrange Georgia, Susanna served as Box Office Manager, Assistant to the Artistic Director, and Dramaturg at the Papermill Theatre in Lincoln, New Hampshire. In Lincoln, Susanna also worked as the Director of Special Events at The Mill at Loon Mountain where she organized the Tell it in the Mountains storytelling festival. From New Hampshire, she transferred to the Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven, Connecticut where she served as the Director of Patron Services. However, Susanna's favorite job was working with kids as the Director of the Drama Camp at the Alpharetta YMCA.
